1 How did you arrive at being a financial analyst and what have you seen and experienced in that role that makes you want to help clients?

I began my journey as a financial analyst driven by a curiosity about how money shapes our lives. Early on, I was captivated by the power of financial literacy and its impact on individuals and families. Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the stress and anxiety clients experience when faced with financial uncertainty. This understanding deepened my desire to help them navigate their financial landscapes with confidence and clarity.

As I worked with clients, I noticed recurring themes: fear of scarcity, a lack of self-worth tied to financial status, and overwhelming pressure to achieve certain financial milestones. These insights made me realize that financial well-being is deeply intertwined with emotional health. It was this revelation that led me to explore somatic work.

3 Why somatics AND financial coaching? What are you currently seeing in your role that makes you think, "Hmmmm, these are related?"

The intersection of somatic work and financial coaching became clear as I observed clients’ struggles. Many of them carried physical manifestations of their financial fears—tension, restlessness, and fatigue—often exacerbated by financial stressors. By integrating somatic practices into financial session work, I empower clients to not only understand their financial situation but also address the emotional and physical challenges that accompany it.

In my current role as an analyst, I see how these two fields complement each other. Financial coaching allows clients to engage with their money stories on a cognitive level, while somatic work helps them process and release the emotional weight those stories carry. Together, they create a holistic approach to financial well-being, fostering resilience and a healthier relationship with money.

2 How did you arrive at somatic work and how somatic work has impacted you?

Somatic practices focus on the mind-body connection, emphasizing how our physical experiences influence our emotions and thoughts. My own journey into somatics began as a quest for self-healing; I sought to understand how my body held onto stress and anxiety, particularly around financial issues and long term trauma from childhood. Through somatic techniques, I learned to recognize and release these patterns, ultimately transforming my relationship with money, my personal trauma, and self-worth.
